When you find yourself hungry between meals, do you grab something convenient and maybe not so healthy? No more — here are 10 healthy snacks that are tasty, easy to prepare, and will satisfy you until your next meal! Some of the healthy snacks listed are paleo-approved, so there’s something for everyone here.

1.Candied Almonds

Nuts are very filling and will keep you full for longer periods of time than empty carbs. Almonds are one of the best nuts to eat thanks to their nutritional content. My favorite way to eat almonds is to roast them with a little honey and cinnamon. This recipe also includes ginger, brown sugar, and salt. You could adjust the seasonings to find the perfect combination of flavors.

2. Parsnip Chips (Paleo)

Who doesn’t like to eat chips for a snack? But they aren’t as good for our waistlines or hearts. Try making parsnip chips — they’ll give you the starch you’re craving for, but they’re much healthier. The recipe says to fry them, but you can always bake them after tossing them in olive oil. You’ll need a mandoline slicer for the best results, but a sharp knife and a steady hand should be fine; your chips might be less crunchy, though.

3. Nori Wraps (Paleo)

Nori wraps aren’t just for sushi! Use them to make wraps — add vegetables, meat, and anything else you like in your wraps. This recipe uses smoked salmon, avocado, fresh basil, and cucumber, which sounds really delicious! You could swap out these ingredients for practically anything, from shrimp to mango. Just make sure you include some protein and fats to make your healthy snack filling!

4. Ricotta and Tomato Toast

Ricotta isn’t only for lasagna and it’s actually a good protein to eat, but just be sure to grab the part-skim version. Make this easy ricotta mix, spread it on a toast, and enjoy it with a slice of fresh tomato. This could be a healthy snack or a pretty appetizer!

5. Peanut Butter, Strawberry, and Banana Quesadilla

This healthy snack recipe reminds me of a crepe stuffed with nutella and banana, but healthier, of course! The roasted strawberries in this recipe are a delicious addition. You could easily use almond butter or sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter.

6. Hummus and Avocado Toasts with Roasted Tomatoes

Hummus and avocado is very good combo, if you haven’t tried it already. Add a roasted tomato on top and a toast on bottom and you’ve got a great, healthy snack! If you’re in a hurry, a slice of fresh tomato or jarred roasted red pepper would do the trick.

7. Avocado Heirloom Tomato Toast with Balsamic Drizzle

Yep, this is another healthy snack that includes avocado. Avocado is an excellent, healthy fat and is so satisfying. This snack is similar to the previous recipe, but it doesn’t include hummus and adds balsamic reduction. Short on time? Just drizzle balsamic vinegar right on the toast, it’ll still taste good and tangy!

8. Sweet Potato Chips (Paleo)

Again, you’ll need a mandoline slicer to make these chips crispy, but I always cut them with a knife and end up with soft but, oh so good sweet potato chips. Try them with guacamole.

9. Roasted Chickpeas

If you haven’t tried them, roasted chickpeas are a tasty snack that will remind you of popcorn. This recipe roasts canned chickpeas in the oven, but you could easily cook them in a skillet at medium heat until they’re nicely browned and ready to nosh on.

10. Paleo Banana Bread

Banana bread isn’t normally considered as a healthy snack, but this one is! I love this banana bread recipe because it’s so easy to make. Just throw everything in a food processor, blend, and then pour in a muffin tin or a bread loaf. I recommend turning this into mini-muffins, because it’s much faster to cook and a mini-muffin (or two) is the perfect size for a quick, healthy snack.

Add some of the above healthy snacks to your grocery shopping list and you’ll never find yourself hungry without anything good (and quick) to snack on. What are your favorite healthy snacks? I’m always looking for great healthy snacks for me and my family, so share ‘em!
