In this interactive experience, you’ll learn how to draw your favorite Disney characters, step-by-step, from a talented Disney animator. With classes for all skill levels, you’ll be able to create something that you’ll cherish forever.

You’ll also learn about the animals that inspired Disney’s beloved characters. After your class, you’ll have the chance to explore Conservation Station, a unique area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom where you can see animals from all over the world up close.

Experience Avatar like a Na’vi!

This breathtaking ride immerses you in flying a banshee or the Ikran, soaring through Pandora’s awe-inspiring landscapes. Feel the wind rush through your hair and share the exhilaration of flight. It’s a high-speed nature cruise through an alien wonderland!  (This is one of my favorite rides in ALL of Disney!)

So one of the free activities around the whole of animal kingdom is the Wilderness Explorers program. Kids get a little booklet with activities to complete throughout the park. It is a really fun filler activity, when between rides. And makes sure you see all that Animal Kingdom has to offer.

By far one of our family’s favorite desserts is at Yak and Yeti. Which is an Asian Fusion style restaurant, that we really enjoy. The dessert to try is the Fried Wontons, and I know it doesn’t sound super exciting, but it is DIVINE! Cream cheese filled fried wontons, with fresh pineapple, creamy vanilla ice cream and honey vanilla drizzle, and together, it is heaven.

Blast off to the past on this adrenaline-pumping dark ride that sets you on a time-traveling mission to keep a dinosaur from biting the dust. With heart-thumping twirls and swirls, it’s a blast to the past that’ll leave you panting! Keep those eyes peeled for a few unexpected twists and turns along the journey. (If you like Indiana Jones in Disneyland- this is a similar style jeep ride)

Finding Nemo: The Musical

Dive headfirst into Nemo’s aquatic scene in this off-the-hook musical spin on the rad Pixar movie we all love. The tunes are catchy, and the puppetry is next-level. Furthermore, the special effects are intriguing. It’s a total must-see for the family. Score a seat early and get ready for a good time! This is a great place to get out of the heat. Young kids will especially love this show.

Kickstart a DIY tour through the wickedly cool Anandapur Royal Forest and say hello to the cool Asian wildlife—think tigers, gibbons, and a bird scene that’s over 50 species strong. It’s a chill and brain-boosting gig that’s totally dialed in for animal buffs. Take it easy, breathe it in, and get lost in the awesomeness of nature.

When it comes to character meet and greets, I like to check that off during a meal to save from standing in line and get two things done at once. A great family dinner location is the Tusker House Restaurant (reservations required- try to do it 30-60 days in advance of your trip). It is a large beautiful buffet with options for all kinds of eaters. And while you are eating that fab 5 come around in their Safari attire to greet you. Its a nice break from the heat and humidity, and a fun treat for the kids.

Rivers of Light: We Are One

Wrap up your day with a stunning night show on the waters of the Discovery River. Rivers of Light: We Are One blends jaw-dropping water projections, floating lanterns, and a harmonious musical score to pay homage to the beauty and marvel of nature. Turn up early for the best views, and let the enchantment take hold.

Pandora: The World of Avatar

Step foot in the gasp-inducing Pandora, straight out of James Cameron’s megahit “Avatar.” Prepare to be gobsmacked by levitating mountains, glow-in-the-dark forests(be sure to visit after dark if you can!), and killer attractions like Avatar’s Flight of Passage (our ultimate favorite) and Na’vi River Journey. It’s a full-on immersive gig you’ll remember for keeps! Also, don’t forget to hit up Satu’li Canteen for some lip-smacking, out-of-this-world grub.
